i have one of the freewell ones, the kind that folds up into a little disc shape, and its honestly not that annoying to carry but i find myself skipping it more often than not, especially when im already carrying a lot of gear. mostly i just find a clean flat rock or patch of grass and call it good. the main times i actually use the pad are dusty environments because i know the sensors dont love getting blasted with dirt on takeoff

also randomly ? does anyone use those velcro prop straps or do you just let the props hang loose in the case? my buddy thinks the straps are pointless but i feel like they have to reduce wear on the prop hinges over time at least a little bit

right now i have the original dji shoulder bag thing that came with the fly more combo and its fine for like driving somewhere but if im hiking or just walking around a city it feels awkward and the zippers are kinda janky already. a friend mentioned pelican but those seem way overkill for a mini 3 unless youre checking it on a plane or something

anyone have a setup they actually use regularly and would recommend? not looking to spend $200 on a case for a $700 drone but also dont want garbage that falls apart

the ones i see recommended are usually the hoodman or the dji one, both around 20-30 bucks which isnt crazy but still, if im not gonna use it whats the point. does anyone actually bring theirs out consistently or does it end up being situational

im flying a mini 3 pro mostly, sometimes bring extra batteries and my nd filter set so i need something that fits all that without being a massive pain to carry. ive been looking at the pelican 1510 because everyone seems to swear by it but that price tag is kind of rough. does anyone use the apache cases from harbor freight? saw some people online saying theyre basically the same foam just cheaper but i dunno if id trust my gear to that.

also if anyone has a good way to organize the foam inserts without it looking like a total mess id love to hear it, mine always ends up with stuff shifting around anyway

also kind of related, does anyone use those landing pads? i've been landing on grass and gravel and im noticing some debris definitely gets kicked up into the gimbal area. was thinking about picking one up but the ones i see look kind of flimsy

i mostly fly in the afternoon when its pretty bright out and a lot of my footage does look a little harsh and choppy on fast pans, which i think might be the shutter speed issue? i dont know though, im also not great at post yet so maybe its a me problem not a gear problem. a full filter kit is like 60-80 bucks and i dont want to spend that if im not gonna see a difference

anyway im in the market for something new and wondering what everyone here is actually using day to day. i need it to fit the drone, 3-4 batteries, the rc-n1 controller, and ideally my nd filter set without having to repack everything every single time. bonus if it doesnt look like a camera case and attract attention at airports
