I ruled out obvious interference as much as i can. Im not near a cell tower or anything obvious. Controller firmware is up to date. Started noticing this maybe two months ago, wasn't an issue before that. Haven't changed anything about my setup that im aware of.

anyone had something similar or know what to check? Getting a bit annoyed tbh.

The Mini 3 Pro is sitting at a price point that makes sense for what I do, but every time i read a thread somewhere people are like "just get the Air 3, omnidirectional obstacle avoidance is a game changer" and now im second guessing myself again. Like does it actually matter that much if youre not doing anything crazy? I fly mostly open areas anyway.

The other thing is the sub-250g thing with the Mini 3. I travel a fair bit and not having to worry about registration in every country is genuinely appealing. Has anyone switched from one to the other or own both? Would love to hear from actual people who fly these not just spec sheets.

checked the flight logs in the DJI fly app but im not totally sure what im looking at. saw something about motor error for like half a second but then it cleared. battery was at 67% so it wasnt a low battery thing. this is the standard mavic 3 by the way, not the cine or the enterprise version, bought it new about 14 months ago so warranty might be an issue.

dont really know if i should fly it again or send it in. has anyone seen this before or know what causes it

main thing i shoot is landscape stuff, some travel content, occasional family stuff at the beach or whatever. i dont do any professional work or anything like that. the omnidirectional obstacle avoidance on the air 3 is tempting because i've had a few close calls flying around trees. but the mini 3 pro is still under 249g which matters to me since i travel a lot and the weight regulations thing is genuinely useful.

anyone who has used both or switched between them ? was it a noticeable difference in actual use or does it feel similar day to day

i updated the firmware a while back, think thats when it started but im not 100% sure on that. tried recalibrating the compass, didnt seem to help. signal interference maybe? im usually flying at a park near my house and i never had issues there before. the controller batteries are fine, checked that already. kinda at a loss here

my main thing is just weekend stuff, hiking trails, some beach shots, occasional family trip footage. nothing commercial, no plans to go pro or anything like that. i dont really need the extended range because i barely push past visual line of sight anyway. but the dual cameras on the air 3 do look pretty tempting when im trying to get both wide establishing shots and something tighter without having to move around so much.

the price jump is pretty significant though especially if i factor in getting new nd filters and another battery or two. anyone whos actually made this switch have thoughts? or am i just falling into the gear upgrade trap again

i checked the antenna on the RC Pro and they look fine to me. could this be interference? there's been some new construction near one of my usual spots but it happens at other places too. anyone dealt with this kind of thing before

its not always in the same location either which makes me think its not just local interference. ive updated firmware, ive re-paired the controller, ive tried different frequencies on the RC Pro. still happens. the drone itself is in good shape, no crashes or anything physical.

Checked the antennas, they're oriented correctly. Did a calibration. Firmware is current as of last week. I've seen people get 5-6km with this setup which i obviously dont need but 800m feels wrong. Wondering if i got a bad unit or if there's something obvious im missing. Haven't tried swapping to a different controller yet because i dont have one to test with.

The Mini 3 Pro with the fly more combo comes out cheaper and id have the extra batteries which honestly matters more to me than slightly better video specs i probably wont notice anyway. But then everyone keeps saying the Air 3 is just a better drone and ill regret not getting it... i dont know. Anyone been in this situation or made the switch either way?

at first i thought it was my phone because im using a pretty old samsung but ive since tried it on my partners iphone and same thing. the DJI Fly app shows the disconnection briefly then comes back. drone seems to just hover in place when it happens which is fine i guess but its obviously not great espicially near anything.

its not every flight but its been happening enough that i cant ignore it anymore. i think it might be my phone? im on a fairly old android at this point. havent tried a different device yet because i dont really have one handy but thats probably my next step. just wondering if anyone else dealt with this and if there was some fix that wasnt just "buy a new phone"

the obvious stuff first ? yeah its lighter and the image quality is honestly surprisingly close to what i was getting with the mavic 2, maybe even better in some conditions. the obstacle avoidance feels more responsive too which caught me off guard a few times when it started braking in ways the old bird wouldnt have. but here's the thing that's bugging me, the wind handling just feels... softer? like i took it out last week in probably 18-20mph gusts and it was doing fine technically but it felt way more nervous than my mavic 2 did in similar conditions. could just be me being used to the heavier platform.

the main thing that bugs me about the mini is the wind handling ? anything above like 25kph and it starts feeling really sketchy, had a few moments where i thought i was gonna lose it. the Air 3 has that bigger sensor and supposedly way better wind resistance but im not sure if its actually noticeably better in real world use or just on paper

also the dual camera setup on the Air 3 seems genuinely useful, not just a gimmick? i do a lot of landscape and some casual real estate stuff on the side so having that medium tele option would probably get used. just not sure if its $500 more useful if that makes sense

im on the latest firmware, flying with the RC Pro controller. it seems to happen more when the drone is flying back at higher altitude and sort of rotating to face me, not sure if thats relevant. havent changed anything recently, this just kind of started a few weeks ago. really not sure where to begin diagnosing it.
