Module 2: Applicable Regulations (14 CFR Part 107)
This module is the regulatory core of the Part 107 Knowledge Test ? the specific rules that govern every sUAS flight, stated with their exact section numbers. It covers the definitions the rest of the regulation depends on, aircraft registration under Part 48, every general operating rule from airspeed to right-of-way, and the waiver process that allows deviation from certain rules under specific safety conditions. Where Module 1 covered becoming a remote pilot, this module covers exactly what you're allowed and required to do once you are one.

The 18 lessons in this module are sequenced to move from foundational vocabulary to increasingly specific operating rules, then close with the waiver process that lets an operator deviate from certain rules when a proposed operation can still be conducted safely. Lessons A and B establish the definitions and registration requirements every other rule depends on. Lessons C through M work through the general operating rules in Subpart B of Part 107 in a logical order: speed and altitude limits, the structure exception, visual line of sight and observers, daylight/night operations, moving-vehicle operations, careless/reckless conduct, right-of-way, alcohol and drugs, external loads, and hazardous materials. Lessons N through P cover accident reporting, inspection/maintenance, and falsification ? the compliance and enforcement side of the regulation. Lessons Q and R close the module with the waiver system itself: what can be waived under 107.205, and the practical process for applying through FAA DroneZone.
