so i saw someone post about a fly-in happening at the Rockford RC club field this saturday and im trying to figure out if its worth the 2 hour drive. dont really know much about it, whether its AMA sanctioned or just a casual thing. ive been to one meetup before and it was pretty chill, just a bunch of guys flying their stuff and chatting. anyone here going or know more about it?

yeah im planning on going, its being organized by the same guys who did the one in April. pretty casual from what i heard, bring whatever you want to fly. they usually have a food truck show up around noon too which is nice. field has a decent sized runway if you're bringing fixed wing but plenty of open space for multirotors too

2 hours might be a stretch if you dont know anyone going tbh. these things can be hit or miss depending on turnout. the Rockford club ones are usually decent though from what ive heard on FB
