the heat format is pretty straightforward once you see it once - usually three or four quads in the air at the same time, fixed number of laps, fastest time wins the heat not necessarily first across.

honestly the pressure thing goes away after like your first two heats. first heat youll probably fly tense and slow, second heat something clicks and you just fly. everyone at local multiGP races is p
ok so context - ive been flying for about 14 months, mostly freestyle and some self-timed laps in a field. a guy at my local club basically talked me into signing up for a multiGP chapter race next month and now im kind of freaking out about it. not about crashing, im fine with that, more about like the whole process of actually competing. i dont really know how heats work or what happens if your quad dies mid-race or honestly even what i should be dialing in on my 5 inch in the weeks leading up to it.
my setup is a 5 inch running betaflight, 45 amp escs, xm+ receiver. nothing exotic. i feel like my flying is decent but ive never actually had to perform under any kind of pressure. any advice from people whove done local races would be really helpful, specifically around what to practice and whether there's anything setup-wise i should think about before showing up
