flying in Thailand next month, anything i should know?

so im heading to Chiang Mai and then down to some islands in the south for about 3 weeks and obviously bringing the mini 4 pro. ive done a bit of research but the rules over there seem kind of all over the place depending on what site you read. some say you need to register, some say under 250g is fine, some say you need a permit for national parks which i definitely want to fly in.

anyone actually been there recently and flown? not looking for the official government website answer, more like what actually happens on the ground. do rangers care? do people care? is it worth registering or do most people just kind of not bother

went to Pai and Doi Inthanon last year with my air 2s. honestly nobody said anything to me at the national parks, but i was early morning and just kept it low key, didnt make a big production of it. the registration thing is real though, Thailand does technically require it for anything with a camera i think, but enforcement is pretty loose from what i saw. id still look into it just so you have something to show if someone does stop you. better than nothing.

the islands are hit or miss. Koh Lanta was fine, nobody cared. but i heard Phi Phi has gotten stricter because of tourists being idiots near the boats and stuff. just read the room basically

cant help with Thailand specifically but just wanted to say the DJI fly app has the geofencing stuff built in and it'll at least flag the obvious no fly zones. not a substitute for actual research but useful as a backup sanity check when youre on the ground and not sure
