After months of deliberating between prebuilt options, I'm torn between the DJI Avata 2 ($859 with goggles) and building an iFlight Nazgul5 BNF ($450 + receiver/goggles). Both seem solid for freestyle but completely different ecosystems.
The Avata 2's 4K@60fps, 23-minute flight time, and integrated obstacle avoidance are tempting for someone who wants to focus on flying rather than tuning. But the Nazgul5 with F7 FC and 45A ESCs gives me full Betaflight control and upgrade flexibility.
Has anyone made this exact comparison? Particularly interested in long-term reliability and whether DJI's locked ecosystem becomes limiting once you want to push performance.
