so we organized this thing for like 3 weeks, made a facebook event, posted on reddit, the whole thing. showed up saturday and it was me, my buddy dave, and like two other guys we didnt even know. which is fine i guess but we were expecting way more people based on how many said they were interested online

idk if the location was bad or the timing or what. we did 10am on a saturday which i thought was reasonable. maybe people just dont follow through? kinda deflating after all the planning

story of my life man. online interest almost never translates to actual attendance. i've found that the smaller more word of mouth type things work better, like just texting the guys you actually fly with regularly. once you get that core group showing up consistently others start tagging along

10am is actually kinda rough depending on where you are, wind picks up by then in a lot of places and people who fly a lot know that. early morning or late afternoon tends to get better turnout from the serious flyers at least. also facebook events are basically dead imo, half the people who click going dont even remeber they did it
