our local group flight yesterday went sideways lol

ok so we do this informal group thing at the park every other sunday, usually like 6 or 7 of us show up, nothing organized just whoever can make it. yesterday was supposed to be a chill morning flight but somehow we ended up with like 15 people and half of them brought people who dont even fly, just watching

anyway the video guy who always shows up with his mavic got into an argument with one of the freestyle guys about the flight area and it got kinda weird for a bit. not like a real fight or anything but you could tell there was some tension. we really need to figure out some basic rules i think before it gets bigger, its been growing every month. anyone else deal with this with their local group? how do you handle it without it becoming a whole thing

yeah this is basically inevitable when groups get past a certain size. what worked for us was just having one person who kinda unofficially owns the spot and sets some basic expectations before anyone takes off. doesnt have to be strict just like hey fpv guys fly over there cinematic guys stay on this side type stuff. takes like 2 minutes and prevents 90% of the drama

lmao the mavic vs freestyle tension is so real everywhere apparently. we had almost the exact same thing happen. honestly the video guys dont want fast stuff flying near them and the fpv guys dont wanna babysit their flight lines either so it makes sense to just split the area. but getting everyone to agree on whos in charge is the hard part tbh, nobody wants to be the rule guy
