thinking about just buying a prebuilt 5inch instead of building again ? anyone running the diatone roma f5?

so ive been in the hobby for like 4 years now and ive built probably 6 or 7 quads from scratch and honestly im just tired of the build process taking up half my weekend before i even get to fly. been looking at prebuilts and the diatone roma f5 keeps coming up but i cant find many people actually talking about what its like to fly out of the box, like what the tune is actually like stock.

my main worry is the pids are going to be some generic garbage and ill spend the first 3 sessions just trying to get it to not oscillate everywhere. also not sure if it comes with anything worthwhile in terms of the vtx situation ? i know a lot of these prebuilts are still shipping with analog and id probably want to swap to digital at some point anyway.

anyone running one of these or have a recommendation for something in the same price range that actually flies decent without immediately tearing into betaflight

had the roma f5 for about 5 months, the stock tune is honestly not terrible but there's definitely some mid throttle propwash that bugged me until i spent an hour cleaning it up in betaflight. nothing crazy though, just dropped the d term a bit and added some more filtering and it felt a lot better. way less painful than some other prebuilts ive tried straight out of the box.

the vtx they ship it with is fine for backyard flying but you will absolutely want to replace it if youre flying anything with trees or distance. i went dji o3 eventually but thats a whole other rabbit hole. for the price point id say its one of the better options right now if you just want to fly on a weekend without a 6 hour build session first.

not familiar with that exact model but if your main thing is not wanting to tune i heard the iflight nazgul evoque f5 v2 comes pretty well tuned from factory, a guy at my local track was running one and it looked smooth. might be worth comparing prices at least
