ok so ive been trying to decide between these two for like three weeks and i keep flip flopping and it's driving me insane. a bit of background ? i do mostly landscape and travel stuff, occasional family videos, nothing commercial. i fly maybe once or twice a week when the weather cooperates.

the mini 4 pro obviously has the obstacle avoidance and that omnidirectional sensing which feels like a big deal for someone who's still getting their bearings in tighter spaces. but then the autel has that bigger sensor and the colors out of camera seem really nice straight from the drone without having to mess with grading as much. also no geofencing nags which people seem to really like.

i keep reading that autel's app is kind of rough compared to DJI fly and that matters to me because i dont want to be fighting the software when im trying to get a shot. but the image quality argument for autel is hard to dismiss. anyone actually flown both of these back to back? not just read specs but actually had them in hand?

had the nano+ for about six months before i picked up the mini 4 pro and honestly the autel app was the thing that got me in the end. it's not terrible but it's just... clunky in ways you notice at the wrong moment. like i was trying to set up a waypoint mission on a trip and it just kept doing weird stuff. the DJI ecosystem is so polished in comparison it's kind of unfair.

that said the autel images are genuinely lovely if you're shooting in good light. low light is where the mini 4 pro pulls ahead imo, that larger aperture helps a lot at dusk. if you're mostly doing golden hour landscape stuff the nano+ would probably make you happy, but if you want something that just works every time without thinking about it too hard the mini 4 is hard to beat for the price class.

i went through the same thing last year lol, ended up just getting the mini 4 pro and haven't looked back. the obstacle avoidance alone probably saved my drone twice already in the first month. once flying near some trees i definitely misjudged the distance on.
