went to the regional event over at the airfield last sunday, the one they do every year i think. way more people than i expected, had to be like 60 or 70 pilots there plus families and spectators. they had a designated flight line and a frequency coordinator for the old school RC guys which was a bit confusing at first because im used to just taking off whenever

the cool part was seeing all the different setups, there was this guy running a full size gas powered heli that was absolutely massive and someone else had like 5 cinewhoops lined up. i felt a bit out of place with just my fpv 5 inch but people were super friendly. did have one moment where i got spatially disoriented on a long range pass and had to rely on the OSD heading to find my way back which was a little stressful with people watching lol

anyway would def go again, just maybe practice a bit more before flying in front of that many people

spatial disorientation in front of a crowd is the worst feeling, happened to me at a swap meet once and i just immediately landed and pretended i meant to do that

that sounds so fun though, i've been wanting to go to something like that for ages. were there any vendors or was it purely a fly-in? and did they have any kind of organized racing or was everyone just doing their own thing the whole time
