18-22 gusts is right at that edge where it depends on a lot of factors honestly. for me its less about the number and more about the consistency ? sustained 20mph i can work with but gusty variable wi

honestly i just check the battery drain rate. if its burning way faster than normal and fighting to hold position my answer is usually to wrap up whatever i was doing and come home. not scientific but
so ive been flying my mavic 3 for about a year now and wind is still the thing that messes with me the most. like i can handle moderate stuff fine but theres this point where i just dont trust myself to make the right call on whether to keep going or land.
yesterday was probably 18-22mph gusts, i was doing some landscape shots out near the coast and the bird was holding position okay but every time i tried to do a slow pan or any kind of intentional movement it just felt wrong. ended up landing early which was probably the right call but i keep second guessing it.
whats your general threshold? like is there a wind speed where you just automatically say no, or do you base it more on how the aircraft is actually behaving? im also curious if theres stuff you can do technique-wise to get better at controlling in wind rather than just avoiding it.
