so ive been flying my mavic 3 for about 8 months now and wind is still the thing that gets in my head the most. like i understand the aircraft can handle up to a certain wind speed on paper but theres such a weird gray zone between "this is fine" and "i should not be doing this right now"
today i was out at the coast and it was probably gusting to 28-30 mph, my drone was holding position okay but it was working hard, you could hear it in the motors and the footage was pretty much garbage because it kept making these tiny corrections constantly. i landed after maybe 6 minutes because it just felt wrong.
curious how other people make that call. is it a gut thing, do you watch the motor output in the app, do you just set a hard wind speed limit for yourself and stick to it? i feel like ive been too conservative sometimes and other times probably not conservative enough. theres got to be a better mental framework for this than just vibes
