mini 3 pro keeps drifting even with gps locked?

  • Members

so ive had my mini 3 pro for about 4 months now and lately ive been noticing it drifts a bit when i let go of the sticks. like not a huge amount but enough to be annoying especially when im trying to get a steady shot hovering near something. i have good gps signal, usually 12+ satellites showing on the app. wind was maybe 5-10mph at most when this was happening.

calibrated the IMU a few weeks ago and it seemed fine after that but now its doing it again. anyone else had this or is there something obvious im missing. using the RC controller not the phone one if that matters

had the exact same thing happen to me lol. ended up being that i was flying near a big metal roof and the compass was just going haywire. moved to an open field and it was rock solid. worth trying jus

compass calibration not IMU is usually what causes drift issues like that. a lot of people mix those two up. try doing a compass cal somewhere away from metal objects, parking lots are actually pretty bad for it even though thats where everyone does it. also worth checking if youre on the latest firmware because there was a update a while back that addressed some hovering stability stuff.

also 5-10mph is more than people think, that little drone is pretty light and it will fight the wind but sometimes you see it sort of hunting around trying to hold position. might not even be a problem with the drone itself.
