MAMBA F405 4-in-1 ESC burnt after full throttle with reversed props - Need advice

  • Members

Just killed my first ESC and need some guidance. Setup: MAMBA F405 FC with integrated 40A ESC, Racerstar 2205 2300kv motors. Had props installed backward on first test flight - didn't realize until drone wouldn't take off. Gave full throttle for maybe 1 second trying to figure out why it wasn't lifting. Now motor 3 is completely dead and the other three motors stutter/beep when testing in Betaflight.

ESCs typically burn due to over current situations like a jammed prop at high throttle or motors over rpm due to prop mismatch. The burned FETs on the ESC board smell like smoke and are visibly damaged. Should I replace both the motor and ESC, or could the motor have survived?
