Remote ID Confusion - My drone firmware updated but do I need to re-register?

I have a DJI Air 2S that I registered two years ago for recreational flying. Recently updated the firmware and now it shows Remote ID compliance in the app. Do I need to update my existing registration with the FAA or create a new one? The FAADroneZone website is confusing - it asks about Remote ID but I'm not sure if my current registration covers it.

  • Original registration expires in 2027
  • Firmware update happened last month
  • Flying recreationally only
