the short answer is yeah it mostly just clicks after enough hours but there are things you can do to speed it up. flying into the wind on purpose, like deliberately doing slow figure eights or orbits

coastal flying is its own thing honestly, the wind comes in weird off the water and then you get thermals mixing in depending on time of day. i grew up surfing and i thought id read wind ok but drones
so ive been flying my mini 3 pro for about 8 months now and i feel pretty comfortable in calm conditions but the moment theres any real wind i just kind of freeze up or i come home early. i had a session last weekend where it was maybe 15-18mph gusts and i just hovered it over a field for like 10 minutes and landed because i was scared of losing it or something dumb happening.
i know the mini 3 is rated for wind resistance up to like level 5 or whatever but i dont trust that number at all. what does actually flying in wind feel like when you get good at it, like is it something you can train for or do you just kind of accumulate hours and it clicks eventually. i keep reading about flying in manual or doing circles into the wind to practice but i dont really understand the point of that specifically.
also im in attitude mode sometimes just to practice but not sure thats even relevant to wind handling. any advice from people who fly in real conditions regularly would be helpful, im near the coast so wind is kind of just part of the deal here
