got denied by LAANC but im not even near an airport??

so i've been trying to get authorization through LAANC for a spot i want to fly and it keeps coming back denied, the weird thing is i looked at the map and the nearest airport is like 6 miles away. i'm using airmap btw. is there something else going on that could cause this? i checked the sectional chart and i honestly cant make heads or tails of it, theres all these weird circles and lines and i dont know which ones actually matter for drones vs regular planes. anyone dealt with this before

yeah this tripped me up too when i first started. airports arent the only thing that creates controlled airspace - there are class B, C, D and even E surface areas that extend way further than people expect, and sometimes class E goes down to the surface around smaller regional airports that dont look like much on google maps. also check if theres a TRSA or a MOA anywhere nearby, those can show up weird in apps. honestly the FAA sectional charts on skyvector are more reliable than airmap for figuring out what's actually going on, airmap has been known to be a little off in certain areas.

i had something similar happen near my town and it turned out there was a tiny little private airstrip like 2 miles away that i had literally never heard of. wasnt even on google maps. showed up on the FAA data though. might be worth just zooming way in on the B4UFLY app and see if anything pops up that you missed
