yeah so that happened. got a 68 and you need a 70 to pass so i missed it by literally two questions. im not gonna lie i thought i was more ready than i was. the practice tests i was taking online i was scoring in the mid 80s so i figured id be fine but the actual test felt weirdly different somehow. like the questions were asking the same stuff but phrased in a way that threw me off

the airspace and the weather decoding stuff got me i think. there were a couple sectional chart questions where i just genuinely had no idea what i was looking at. and one of the METAR questions i second guessed myself and changed my answer which i bet was right the first time

anyway i can retest after 14 days i think? and i still have my original score report so i know what areas to focus on. anyone else fail it the first time and then pass? kinda feels bad but im just gonna study harder i guess

dude i failed my first attempt too, don't beat yourself up. 68 is actually really close and the fact that you know exactly what got you means the retake should go better. for the sectional chart stuff i'd honestly recommend just going on skyvector and zooming around different areas and quizzing yourself on what you see. like find a random airport and try to figure out the airspace class, then check yourself. doing it on an actual interactive chart helped me way more than just looking at the static practice images

also for METARs just keep decoding them until it feels automatic. theres a decoder tool on aviationweather.gov where you can put in any airport and see the real current METAR and what it means side by side. do like 20 of those and you'll stop second guessing yourself on the test

two questions man, that stings. but yeah 14 days is right for the retest waiting period. the score report breaking down your weak areas is actually really useful, i remember mine was pretty specific about which knowledge areas i got wrong. worth spending most of your time there and not just reviewing everything equally

the phrasing thing you mentioned is real btw. the actual test questions can be weirdly worded and if you've only been doing one practice test bank you might not be used to the variation. try a different set of practice questions this time around, i think that makes a difference
