litchi vs dronelink for waypoint missions ? am i missing something

  • Members

ok so ive been using litchi for probably two years now for all my automated missions and honestly its been fine, no real complaints, but a buddy of mine wont shut up about dronelink and how its way more flexible for complex stuff. i finally downloaded it and spent like an hour trying to set up a basic orbit mission and honestly felt like i was back to square one learning litchi all over again.

the interface just feels clunky to me but maybe im approaching it wrong. he says once it clicks it clicks but i dunno. also noticed dronelink seems to update way more frequently which either means its actively developed or they keep breaking things, not sure which. anyone actually switched from litchi to dronelink full time and has thoughts? using a mini 3 pro if that matters

yeah dronelink has a learning curve for sure, i remember feeling the same way. the thing that finally made it click for me was watching their actual tutorial series on youtube instead of just poking around the interface. litchi is more intuitive upfront but dronelink is way more powerful once you get the mission templates sorted out. i do a lot of inspection work and being able to set precise gimbal angles at each waypoint independently is something litchi just cant do as cleanly.

the update frequency thing is actually a plus imo ? dev is responsive, they pushed a fix within like 3 days after the last DJI firmware update broke some camera trigger stuff. litchi took weeks. so yeah id stick with it if your buddy vouches for it, just give it more than an hour
