Avata 2 vs FPV drone ? is the FPV even worth it anymore

so ive been flying my DJI FPV drone for about a year and a half now and honestly still love it but my buddy just picked up an Avata 2 and after flying it for like 20 minutes i kind of get why people are switching. the manual mode on the FPV still feels way more raw and satisfying to me but the Avata 2 in sport mode is no joke, thing rips through gaps way more confidently than i expected from a cinewhoop style setup
my main gripe with the Avata 2 is the prop guard situation. like yeah safety blah blah but it changes how you think about flying through tight stuff, you're always doing that mental math of adding a few extra inches on each side. with the FPV drone you just kinda go and trust the sticks
anyway not really a question just curious if anyone else has done this comparison hands on, not looking for spec sheet stuff i can read that anywhere
