DJI FPV losing signal randomly mid flight, not sure whats going on

  • Members

This has been bugging me for a few weeks now. Flying in normal and sport mode, nothing crazy, and i'll get these random signal dropouts that last maybe half a second but enough to freak me out. It happens maybe once or twice per flight and not always in the same location so it doesnt seem like a fixed interference source. Im running the stock antennas on the goggles and havent modded anything.

I did update the firmware a couple months ago and i want to say it started sometime after that but honestly cant be 100% sure because i wasn't paying close attention to when exactly it started. Flying mostly in semi-rural area with some power lines maybe 200 meters away but those have always been there. Anyone dealt with something similar or have ideas where to start diagnosing this

Check your antenna connections on the goggles first, like physically reseat them. I had something similar and one of mine was barely finger tight and causing intermittent drops. Also worth checking if there's any obvious wear on the coax near the connector where it flexes when you adjust the goggle IPD or whatever.

The firmware thing is worth investigating too, there were some threads about the O3 link behaving weirdly on a specific version a while back but I cant remember which one off the top of my head. Might be worth checking the DJI release notes or searching the usual forums for your specific firmware version number.

could also just be RC controller interference depending on where you hold it relative to your body. i noticed i was blocking my own signal on some flights when i was holding the controller low and my torso was kind of in the path. sounds dumb but it made a difference when I started holding it higher and angling the antennas properly. the FPV controller antenna orientation matters more than people think
