the sudden drop vs gradual fade thing is actually a useful clue. gradual usually means youre pushing range or theres consistent interference, sudden drops like you're describing are more often a loose

i had something similar and it turned out to be my phone doing background wifi scans messing with the 2.4 connection, i was using my phone as the display through the RC. not sure if thats your setup b

so this has been driving me crazy for about two weeks now. im flying my mavic 3 and it just randomly drops the RC link, sometimes at like 200m out sometimes closer, totally unpredictable. it'll reconnect after a few seconds but obviously thats terrifying when youre over water or anything you cant just hover over safely.
ive already tried switching from 2.4 to 5.8ghz and it didn't really seem to make a difference, maybe slightly worse on 5.8 actually. the area im flying in isnt super urban but there's a cell tower maybe half a kilometer away which i thought might be part of it. updated firmware last week thinking that might help. it didnt.
anyone dealt with this kind of intermittent stuff before? im wondering if its the RC itself or something on the drone side. the signal bar just drops suddenly rather than gradually fading which feels like its not a range thing, more like a hardware or interference thing but idk
