has anyone actually used the avata 2 for more than a few weeks - looking for real opinions not just launch hype

every review i saw when the avata 2 dropped was just people who had it for like 3 days going wow this is amazing. which fine, its a cool drone, but im trying to figure out if it holds up over time. specifically curious about the goggles 3 pairing reliability because ive heard mixed things, and also just general durability since i fly in woods and have definitely clipped a branch or two in my time.

i fly a mix of freestyle and just cruising around, not into racing really. currently on a self built 5 inch which i love but sometimes i just want something i can grab and go without checking if everything is soldered properly if you know what i mean. the avata 2 seems to fill that gap but 1300 bucks is not nothing and im not trying to make an impulse buy here

had mine since pretty close to launch so coming up on maybe 5 months. the goggles 3 connection has been solid for me, had maybe 2 or 3 dropouts total and those were in areas with a lot of interference

not an avata 2 owner but i demoed one at a local meetup and the field of view in the goggles felt smaller than i expected coming from my usual fpv setup. might just be something you get used to but it

had mine since pretty close to launch so coming up on maybe 5 months. the goggles 3 connection has been solid for me, had maybe 2 or 3 dropouts total and those were in areas with a lot of interference so i dont really blame the hardware. the turtle mode is genuinely handy when you clip something and land upside down in tall grass which has happened to me more than id like to admit.

durability wise its held up better than i expected. cracked one of the prop guards early on being dumb in a tight spot but replacements are cheap and easy. the thing i wasnt expecting is how much i appreciate the stabilization when im just cruising around, it smooths out your inputs in a way that makes casual footage look way better than it deserves to given how i was flying. if you already have the goggles 2 though id look into whether those work first because buying into the full ecosystem at once is a lot

not an avata 2 owner but i demoed one at a local meetup and the field of view in the goggles felt smaller than i expected coming from my usual fpv setup. might just be something you get used to but it threw me off. seemed like a solid unit overall tho, the guy who owned it had clearly put some hours on it and it still looked fine
