flying in Iceland next month, anything i should know

so im heading to Iceland in late October and obviously bringing the mini 3 pro. ive done some reading on the regulations but honestly its a bit confusing with the open category stuff and whether i need to register or not. from what i can tell registration is required if youre over 250g which the mini 3 technically isnt but then theres some stuff about controlled airspace near the national parks that i dont fully understand.

anyone actually flown there recently? also wondering about the wind because from what everyone says it can be absolutely brutal and i dont know if the mini can handle it. last thing i want is to lose it over a lava field somewhere

not Iceland specifically but ive flown in Norway and Scotland which probably have similar vibes. the thing that got me was how fast the weather changes, like you look at windy.com and it says 12 knots

went in september last year. wind is no joke, genuinely had a few moments where i thought it was gone. flew near Jokulsarlon and the gusts just come out of nowhere off the glacier. the mini held up better than i expected but i kept it lower than usual and never pushed too far out. just check the app Droneleris or whatever its called, locals use it and it shows the restricted zones pretty clearly. also vatnajokull national park is basically a no-fly so dont even try

not Iceland specifically but ive flown in Norway and Scotland which probably have similar vibes. the thing that got me was how fast the weather changes, like you look at windy.com and it says 12 knots then 20 minutes later its insane. i always pre-plan two or three spots so if one is sketchy i can just drive to something more sheltered. also golden hour lasts forever up there which is amazing for footage
