FCC banning DJI - anyone actually understand what this means

so i saw the news about the fcc adding dji and autel to the covered list last december but honestly i'm still confused about what this actually means for those of us who already own these drones. like is my mini 3 going to just stop working one day or what

ive been reading articles but theyre all super vague about the actual impact on existing users. some say its just about licensing new models in the US but then i see people saying this could affect firmware updates and app support too

anyone have clearer info on this? feels like every article just rehashes the same basic points without explaining what it means day to day

from what ive pieced together your existing dji stuff should keep working fine. the fcc ban is about them not being able to license new products going forward, not shutting down existing ones

the real question is gonna be long term support - will dji still push firmware updates, will the dji fly app keep getting updated for us market, etc. thats the grey area nobody seems to have answers for yet

honestly this whole thing feels like its moving really slowly despite all the headlines. wouldnt be surprised if it takes months or even years to see real impacts

Yeah this has been stressing me out too. Just bought a air 3s in november and now im wondering if i made a huge mistake

But like the other person said i think existing drones are fine? The way i read it is they cant get approval for NEW models after the ban went into effect. So no dji mini 4 pro or whatever but our current stuff should be ok

Still makes me nervous about buying replacement parts or accessories though. What if they stop importing those too
