planning a trip to iceland next spring and everyones telling me its super drone friendly but im not sure i believe it. like every country sounds drone friendly until you actually get there and realise half the good spots are national parks or near the airport or whatever. does anyone have actual experience flying there recently, not just stuff they read online

went last october with my air 2s. honestly its pretty open compared to most places ive been but you do need to watch out around the national parks, vatnajokull for example has areas where you need permission. the thing that got me was how fast the weather changes, i had maybe 3 good flying days out of 10 and wind was the main problem not rules. but when it was good it was unreal, flew over some lava fields near reykjanes that looked like another planet

ive heard the locals are pretty relaxed about it but dont quote me on that, i havent been myself. just make sure youre not flying near the roads in popular areas because theres a lot of tourist traffic and rangers do patrol. also the puffin colonies have restrictions during nesting season so check dates if your going in summer
