so i finally dragged myself out to one of these community fly-in events after lurking on here for like a year. honestly thought it was gonna be way more organized, like i expected structured flight windows and people taking turns or something. it was really just... everyone flying at once in kind of loose orbits around the field and hoping nobody's fpv feed got stomped on. the video interference was real, i was running 5.8 and there were at least 4 other people on 5.8 and it was a mess. but honestly still had a blast just talking to people, way more variety of aircraft than i thought — someone had a massive octocopter that looked like it cost more than my car and this one older dude had a scratch built fixed wing that flew beautifully. would go again just maybe bring my 2.4 vtx setup next time

yeah the video interference thing at group events is always rough, people dont really coordinate channels ahead of time. some of the bigger organized events will actually assign vtx channels before you fly but that takes someone actually running things properly. glad you had fun though, the variety of builds you see at those things is always worth it

which field was this at? and did they have any freestyle fliers there or was it mostly just cruising around
