group flights are kind of underrated honestly

so anyway i finally dragged myself out to one of the local club meetups after putting it off for like two years and i genuinely dont know why i waited so long. flew solo pretty much the whole time i've been in the hobby and just assumed the club stuff would be a bunch of old guys flying trainers and talking about rules the whole time. and yeah there were some of that but also a couple guys running 5 inch builds on 4s who really knew what they were doing and one dude had a cinewhoop setup that was super clean. ended up swapping betaflight tips for like an hour in the parking lot. if youre on the fence about going to one of these things just go, worst case you leave early

this exactly. i was the same way, figured it would be boring or cliquey but people are generally pretty welcoming especially if you actually know your stuff or are at least genuinely curious. the knowledge you pick up just from watching other peoples setups in person is way more than you get from youtube videos

whats the best way to even find local clubs? i keep searching and either find groups that havent posted anything since 2019 or facebook groups with like 8 members. feels like the comunity in my area is either dead or hiding somewhere i havent looked yet
