group flights are kind of a mess imo

went to one of those community fly days last weekend and honestly it was fun but also kind of chaotic. like nobody was coordinating takeoffs and there were quads everywhere, had one close call where someones whoops just shot across my flight line out of nowhere. the event itself was great, met some cool people, someone had an insane custom long range wing setup i spent way too long looking at. but im not sure id fly my good stuff there again, maybe just bring a beater next time. anyone else feel like these things need better organization or is that just part of the vibe

yeah the one i went to had a pretty good system actually, they split it into a racing area and a freestyle area and had spotters. made a huge difference. think it just comes down to whoever is running it, some clubs put in the work and some just say show up and fly lol

i mean thats kind of the tradeoff right, you get the social side but lose the peaceful solo session thing. i usually just hover around the edges and watch more than i fly at those events. still worth it for the people you meet honestly
