so theres a local fly-in happening about 45 mins from me next month and ive never actually flown with other people before, always just been a solo thing in the field behind my house. kinda nervous tbh, dont know what to expect. like do people just show up and fly or is there some kind of organized thing that happens? also wondering if its weird to show up with just a mini 2 when everyone else probably has way fancier stuff

dude just go, seriously. my first fly-in I was convinced everyone would be flying like $3000 setups and they would judge my gear but honestly nobody cares. half the people there had minis and mavics and whatever. there was this one older guy with like a DJI phantom 3 and everyone was stoked to see it flying. the vibe is usually super relaxed, people just hang out talk about builds and take turns in the air. some have raffle prizes and stuff but mostly its just people who like the hobby getting together which honestly is the best part

yeah usually pretty chill. bring extra batteries thats like the main thing. nothing worse than flying for 20 mins and then just standing around for 2 hours waiting for them to charge lol
