ok so i went to my first actual organized group fly last month and i dont know why i waited so long to do this. i've been flying solo for almost two years just going out by myself to empty fields and parking lots and whatever. the group thing was completely different vibe, there was maybe 15 people there with everything from little whoops to some serious long range builds and people were just super willing to talk about their stuff and let you look at things up close. one guy even let me fly his 5 inch which i'd never flown anything that fast before. i think i've been missing out on a big part of this hobby by just staying home and flying alone honestly

totally agree. the community side of this hobby is massivley underrated. i found my local AMA club through one of these meetups and now i actually have a proper field to fly at instead of scrambling to find spots. worth it just for that alone

where do you even find out about these things though? i've tried searching online and all i find are old posts from like 2019
