does the mini 4 pro need to be registered in italy if youre from the US? i thought sub 250g was kind of a grey area in a lot of EU countries but maybe thats changed
so i finally did it, spent two weeks in italy and brought the mini 4 pro along. honestly the amalfi coast was incredible but man the rules are a mess to figure out beforehand. italy uses the D-Flight app for airspace authorization and you HAVE to register before you go, like dont wait until youre standing on a cliff trying to figure out why your drone wont arm. i made that mistake the first day in positano and just stood there looking like an idiot.
the coast itself is mostly uncontrolled airspace once you get away from the towns but a lot of the prettier spots have crowds and local carabinieri do walk around. i never got stopped but i was always pretty quick about it, fly for like 10 mins get the shot and land. ravello was probably my favorite spot, early morning with basically nobody around. just felt right.
anyway if anyones thinking about doing italy just sort out the registration stuff at home, it took me like 3 days of back and forth emails to get the operator number sorted and the website is partially in italian so have a translator open the whole time
