so my brother in law asked me last week how much my whole setup cost and i kinda just... lowballed it. told him the drone itself without mentioning the extra batteries, the goggles, the controller, all the random stuff i bought over the past year. i think if i added it all up honestly it would be an embarasing number

not sure why im posting this its just been on my mind. my wife knows roughly but i dont think she knows the real total either. anyone else kind of keep this stuff vague with family or is that just me being weird about it

haha no youre not alone. i have a "miscellaneous electronics" category in my head that my partner doesnt ask too many questions about. i think there's an unspoken agreement happening there

i just tell people the truth honestly, my wife flies too so theres no hiding anything in this house. but before she got into it i was definitely doing the "oh this one wasnt that much" thing while standing in front of a shelf full of gear. its a slippery slope man, the accessories get you way more than the drone itself does
