Carbon fiber frame cracked after maybe 20 packs, normal?

  • Members

so i got this 5 inch frame from a pretty well known manufacturer (wont name names yet) and after maybe 20 battery packs the bottom plate has this hairline crack right near the motor mount. i mean i crash sometimes but nothing too crazy, mostly just practice runs in the park

is this normal wear or did i get a dud? the frame wasnt exactly cheap either. thinking about just reinforcing it with some epoxy but wondering if thats gonna hold up or if i should just bite the bullet and get a new one

ive had similar issues with my current frame but it took way longer to develop cracks. depends alot on how you land and what kind of props youre running too. heavier props put more stress on the arms

20 packs is pretty early for a crack unless you've been sending it hard. what thickness is the bottom plate? some of the cheaper carbon layups are garbage even from "name brand" companies. i'd contact them first before doing any diy fixes since that might void any warranty they offer
