this was a few weeks ago flying back from japan and i thought i had everything sorted — batteries in my carry on, under 100wh each, declared everything. but apparently the agent decided two of my three intelligent flight batteries were suspicious and pulled them. never got a clear reason. lost two lipo packs that were barely used. just venting i guess but also wondering if anyone else has run into this and whether there was anything i couldve done differently. felt totally random. the flight itself was fine and i got amazing footage around hakone but the whole battery thing really soured the end of the trip.

ugh that happened to my buddy in thailand. some airports the agents just dont know what they're looking at and make a call on the spot. theres not much you can do honestly. some people print out the watt-hour specs and airline policy on paper and hand it over preemptively but even that doesnt always work

japan customs can be weirdly strict about certain things even when you follow the rules exactly. sorry that happened, losing good batteries hurts. did you at least get any receipts or documentation when they took them or did they just walk off with them
