thoughts on my first real cinematic attempt — be honest

ok so i know its not great but i spent a whole sunday editing this clip together from about two hours of flying over the old quarry near my town. its maybe 90 seconds long and ive watched it so many times now i genuinely cant tell if its good or i just think it is cause i made it. theres a reveal shot in there im pretty proud of where i come up over the tree line and the whole quarry just opens up below, felt smooth when i did it but on screen it looks a little fast maybe

main thing im asking about is the transitions, i used j-cuts through most of it but threw in a couple hard cuts and now i think the pacing is off in the back half. would really appreciate actual feedback not just nice job type stuff

without seeing it its hard to say much but the reveal shot thing you described sounds like it might just need a tiny speed ramp rather than slowing the whole clip down. even like a subtle ease-in at the moment it crests the tree line can make it feel way more intentional. also j-cuts are great but if your audio underneath isnt interesting enough they can make the whole thing feel kind of flat

id genuinely watch it, share the link. also dont be too hard on yourself for the pacing thing, my first few edits were all over the place and i only noticed because someone pointed out that i was cutting on weird beats instead of following the music properly. once you hear that you cant unhear it
