so i saw a flyer posted in the local FB group about a fly-in at Lakewood park on the 14th, supposed to be open to all skill levels. ive never been to one of these things before and honestly not sure what to expect. do people just show up and fly or is there like a structured thing going on? last time i tried to join a group flight i felt totally out of my depth and kinda just stood around watching everyone else

yeah these are usually pretty chill, at least the ones ive been to. nobody really runs it like an organized event, more like people just show up, chat about their setups, do a few laps or whatever. bring extra batteries thats the main thing. you'll spend more time talking than actually flying tbh

I went to one last summer at a different park and it was really welcoming, people were letting beginners try their quads and everything. Just dont be shy about asking questions, most pilots love talking about their gear way too much lol
