so anyway we had like eight of us out at the usual spot last sunday, mix of fpv guys and a couple cinematic people, was going really well for the first hour or so. then this dude shows up with a mavic 3 and just starts flying it right through the area where people were doing low passes and nobody had said anything to him so he didnt know. nearly caused two people to abort runs early. he was totally friendly about it when we talked to him but it got me thinking we really need some kind of loose agreement before these things start, like a basic heads up on whos flying what and where. not trying to gatekeep just... idk it was sketchy for a second there

yeah this is a real problem at informal meetups, no one wants to be the person who makes rules but at the same time you kinda have to designate flight zones or at least do a quick five minute briefing at the start. we started doing that at our group and it made a huge difference, even just saying hey fpv is over here, camera birds stay over there

honestly im usually the mavic guy in this scenario lol. i always feel kind of out of place at fpv meetups, like peoples tolerance for camera drones varies wildly. glad he was cool about it at least, some people get really territorial
