japan is notoriously strict, good that you got through fine. the DIPS registration took me like two hours the first time because the site kept timing out and my japanese is nonexistent. worth it thoug

wait they actually check the batteries at customs? ive just been putting mine in my bag and hoping for the best lol. might start printing specs just in case thats actually a good tip
ok so this wasnt as bad as it sounds but wanted to share because it freaked me out at the time. flying into japan last month, had my mavic 3 in carry on like always and customs pulled me aside. they wanted to know about the batteries, whether they were lithium, wattage, all that. i had printed out the specs sheet which honestly saved me because the guy was pretty thorough
they were fine with it in the end but i was sweating for a minute there. japan also has its own drone law thing, the DIPS system, you have to register and get a flight plan approved for basically anything that isnt a tiny park. flew in a couple spots and it was genuinely one of the most beautiful things ive ever shot but the prep work was not small
anyway moral of the story bring your battery spec sheets when you travel internationally. probably obvious to most of you but i never bothered before and nearly paid for it
