so im heading to Lisbon and then down to the Algarve coast in a few weeks and obviously bringing the mini 3 pro. ive done a bit of research but the rules seem kinda confusing, like there's the EU drone regulations but then each country has their own thing on top of that? or do they? i honestly cant tell if i need to register separately in Portugal or if my UK A2 CofC covers me there post-brexit. anyone actually flown there recently and can tell me what the real situation is rather than what the official sites say because those are always written like legal documents

flew there last summer, Algarve specifically around Lagos. honestly it was fine, nobody bothered me. you do need to register with ANAC which is the portuguese aviation authority, its not hard just a bit annoying. takes like 20 mins online. UK cert doesnt automatically carry over anymore yeah youre right about that. also heads up the cliffs around Ponta da Piedade are stunning to fly but its gets pretty windy in the afternoon so go early

not sure about the cert stuff but i went to sintra and tried to fly near the palace and got told off pretty quickly lol. lots of tourist areas have no fly zones that arent always obvious on the apps. just double check before you set up anywhere near old buildings or viewpoints because people will say something
