flying in iceland next month, any tips?

so im heading to iceland in about 5 weeks and obviously bringing the mavic with me. ive been reading conflicting stuff online about where you can and cant fly there. some sites say you need to register, others say tourists are fine just following basic rules. anyone actually been and flown there recently?

also wondering about the wind situation near the coast because ive heard it gets pretty brutal and im not trying to lose a drone into the atlantic

went last year with my mini 3, the wind is no joke man. i had a day near vik where i literally couldn't take off because it was just way too sketchy. the drone was reading like 45kph gusts and i wasnt about to risk it. but when it calms down the shots are insane, especially around jokulsarlon. just keep an eye on windy.com, that app was a lifesaver the whole trip

as for registration i honestly just followed the EASA rules since iceland is in that system i think. nobody stopped me or asked anything but i wouldnt fly anywhere near the national parks without checking first

the coastal wind thing is real, had my air 2s get pushed pretty hard near the black sand beach area. just stay low and close and youll be fine mostly. bring extra nd filters too because the light does weird things there at like 11pm when the sun barely sets
