yeah iceland wind is no joke. i lost a drone there in 2021, not because it crashed but because a gust caught it during landing and sent it skidding off a lava rock and cracked the whole arm. ground ha

this is making me rethink my plan to bring mine to norway in the fall lol. was already nervous about the regulations there but now im worried about the weather too. did you do anything differently on
ok so i just got back and i have to tell someone about this because it was equal parts amazing and a complete disaster. flew out to iceland for 10 days, had the whole trip planned around getting aerial footage of the volcanic landscapes around the reykjanes peninsula because theres been all that eruption activity. what i did not account for was the wind. like i knew it would be windy but i did not know it would be 60+ km/h gusts every single day for the first week. my air 2s was basically unusable half the time, it would just sit there fighting the wind and burning through the battery in like 8 minutes
did eventually get two or three days with calmer conditions near the end of the trip and the footage is genuinely some of the best ive ever captured. lava fields, steam vents, the whole thing. but yeah if anyone is planning iceland just know the weather will absolutely humble you
