so i saw a post on the local facebook group about a fly-in happening at Riverside park on the 14th, supposed to be like an informal thing, bring whatever you got and just hang out and fly. i've never been to one of these before and honestly dont know what to expect. do people just show up and fly or is there like a schedule or something? my buddy said last year there were maybe 30 people and it was chill but he also said some guys got way too competitive about range tests which sounds kind of annoying tbh

anyway im bringing my mini 3 pro probably, maybe the fpv if i feel brave enough. just wondering if anyone else from here is going

yeah those things are usually pretty casual, at least the ones ive been to. you just show up, find a spot, and people start talking about their gear within like 5 minutes. nobody really cares what you fly as long as you're not being reckless about it. the competitive range test guys are annoying but they usually end up in their own little corner doing their thing

bring snacks if you're staying a while, the good ones turn into like a 4 hour hangout pretty fast
