group flights are kind of awkward tbh

went to my first drone meetup last month and it was cool to meet people but the actual flying part was weird. like everyone is trying to avoid each others airspace at the same time and nobody really coordinates so half the time i was just hovering waiting for someone to land. dunno maybe im used to flying solo. did stick around and talk shop for like 2 hours after which was genuinely great, guy there had a self built long range setup that was insane. just think the flying itself needs some kind of loose organization or something

totally get that. the ones i've been to where someone informally calls out what they're doing on a handheld radio work way better. even just saying hey im going east side for a few minutes helps a lot
