flying in Thailand next month, anything i should know?

so im heading to Thailand for about 3 weeks, mostly Chiang Mai and then down to some of the islands. ive been flying my mini 3 pro for like a year now at home but never taken it abroad. already read some stuff about needing to register but honestly the rules seem to change depending on what site you look at so im not totally sure what's current.

anyone been there recently and actually flown legally? like did you register online beforehand or just show up and figure it out. also heard national parks are basically a no-go but some of the beaches seem like a grey area. dont want to get my drone confiscated on day one lol

went last year, Krabi and Pai mostly. the registration thing is real, you do need to do it through the CAAT website before you go. its a bit of a pain because you need a thai phone number or someone to help you get one, i ended up using a tourist SIM which worked fine. took maybe a day to get approved.

national parks are absolutely off limits, dont even think about it, rangers are not messing around. beaches outside of park boundaries are more relaxed but obviously dont fly over crowds or near the airport corridors. got some incredible shots at sunrise near Ao Nang when nobody was around, zero issues.

i just kept mine in the bag honestly, wasnt worth the stress for me. but i know people who flew without registering and were totally fine. probably depends a lot on where you are and how obvious you're being about it
