so ive been seeing posts about a fly-in happening at Millbrook park on the 14th and im trying to figure out if its worth the drive. its like 2 hours from me and i dont really know anyone in the local community yet. been flying for about 8 months mostly just solo in fields near my house. would be cool to finally meet some people who actually know what theyre talking about instead of just watching youtube all day lol

anyone been to one of these before? is it usually a good vibe or is it one of those things where the old timers just kind of ignore the newer guys

went to one at a different location last summer and honestly it was great. people were super chill, nobody cared that i was flying a beat up mini 2 while everyone else had expensive stuff. someone even let me try their FPV rig which i'd never flown before and that was a whole experience. go, seriously, worst case you get a couple hours of flying in a new spot

depends on who organizes it tbh. some of these things are well run and some are just a bunch of dudes standing around arguing about specs. check if theres an actual agenda or if its just an open fly. the ones with a loose structure tend to be more fun for newer people i think
