ok so went to my first proper drone meetup last month and it was cool but also kind of weird? like everyone was super friendly dont get me wrong but theres this unspoken thing where you dont want to be the guy whose quad is way cheaper than everyone elses or whatever. i was flying my old mavic air 2 and felt a bit self conscious next to all the cinewhoops and long range builds people had. did anyone else feel that way starting out at these things or is it just me. also genuinely had no idea about the informal rules for right of way when multiple people are flying at the same time, nobody really explained it and i didnt want to ask and look dumb

mavic air 2 is a solid machine nobody should be making you feel weird about that. some of these guys spend 3k on a build and still cant frame a decent shot so

the right of way thing is real and honestly most groups dont talk about it enough. generally whoever is doing a longer planned flight path or flying higher has informal priority but its really just communication, call out when youre taking off and when youre coming back in and youll be fine. the gear intimidation thing fades fast once people start talking, everyone there was new at some point
