  • Members

so ive been planning this trip to vietnam for ages and obviously the drone is coming with me, got my mini 3 pro and i know some countries are super strict but ive been getting mixed info about vietnam specifically. some people say you need a permit, some say just dont fly near anything government looking and youre fine. anyone actually been there recently and flown?

mostly want to get shots around ha long bay and maybe hoi an, not trying to get my drone confiscated on day one lol

went last year with my air 2s, ha long bay is insane by the way you're gonna love it. technically you do need permits but honestly i just flew early morning before the tour boats got going and kept it low and nobody said anything. that said i was pretty nervous the whole time and probably wouldnt push it near any city areas, stick to the open water spots and you should be fine

hoi an has some rules around the old town area i think, worth looking up before you go

dont quote me on this but i heard they tightened things up a bit after some incidents with tourist drones near restricted zones. just register it before you go and maybe check the CAAV website, its the civil aviation authority there. or just download the airspace app and see what shows up red when you get close
